Underground mining contractor Barminco, part of ASX-listed Perenti, has won a new circa-US$200 million contract at a Western Australia gold mine, adding to a spate of recent work in Australia and parts of Africa.
The four-year, A$300 million contract with Ramelius Resources at the Dalgaranga mine was awarded after Ramelius’ recent acquisition of Dalgaranga owner, Spartan Resources.
Barminco will provide underground development, production and related mining services, following on from its recent completion of an exploration decline. The contractor has an option to extend for a fifth year.
Perenti said it would spend about A$16 million of growth capital at Dalgaranga in the current fiscal year.
