Caterpillar has booked second-quarter revenue of US$17.3 billion, up 22% on Q2 2022, with solid gains across construction, mining and quarrying, and energy and transport.
CEO Jim Umpleby said continued healthy demand drove double-digit top-line growth and record adjusted profit per share. Operating profit, or EBIT, margin was 21.1% for Q2 2023 versus 13.6% for the second quarter of 2022.
The US manufacturing major’s Q2 construction market sales were up 19% year-on-year at $7.154 billion, resources (mining/quarrying) surged 20% yoy to $3.563 billion, and energy and transportation was 27% higher yoy at $7.219 billion.
Caterpillar reported total 2022 revenue of $59.4 billion.
