Mining equipment manufacturer Epiroc has booked a circa-US$30 million underground machine order from China’s Luannan Macheng Mining for its new 22 million tonnes per annum iron ore project in Hebei Province.
Epiroc says “several dozen machines with automation features”, including loaders, production and development drills, and rock reinforcement units, will be delivered. “Some of the loaders are the electrically powered Scooptram EST 1030, and all the machines have market-leading energy efficiency,” the manufacturer said.
“China in recent years started the quick move towards consolidation of steel companies and the high-quality development of the steel industry, focusing more on safety and the environment,” said Luannan Macheng Mining mine manager, Fu Zhen Xue.
“The equipment will help Shougang Group lead China’s steel industry and the shift towards safety and productivity.”
Epiroc CEO Helena Hedblom said the manufacturer’s “productive partnership” with Shougang Group went back many years.
