CIMIC business Sedgman has acquired small US engineering consultancy FSI Engineering and Design without disclosing the price.
FSI, established in 2006, says on its website it provides brownfield engineering, procurement and management services to clients in the USA and Mexico. Mining and metals are among its core markets.
Sedgman is the minerals engineering arm of CIMIC, which also controls the world’s largest surface mining contractor, Australian-based Thiess.
“This acquisition strengthens our North American growth trajectory and enhances our specialist technical capabilities in multidiscipline engineering, procurement and construction management services for operations and maintenance, sustaining capital and greenfield capital projects,” Sedgman managing director Grant Fraser said.
“It reflects our commitment to supporting clients in the delivery of resilient, scalable and sustainable critical minerals projects, with the ability to deliver locally leveraging global expertise.”
The combined entity is operating as Sedgman FSI.
