Finland’s Metso has been confirmed as primary crusher and ball mill supplier to the billion-dollar Hemi gold project in Western Australia.
The manufacturer has booked a €20 million order for two 14MW ball mills and a gyratory crusher. It says it has supplied more than 50 of the Superior MKIII primary gyratory crushers around the world since 2018.
Hemi owner De Grey Mining says its plus-10 million tonnes per annum processing circuit will feature state-of-the-art equipment and proven technologies, “contributing to responsible ore processing”.
Managing director Glenn Jardine said decisions on other process equipment would be made soon.
Metso is opening its largest regional service centre worldwide at Karratha in WA’s Pilbara next month.
