Epiroc bags big copper mine order

Staff reporter

Epiroc expects to start delivering about US$28 million of new underground mining equipment to Turkish miner Eti Bakir in the first half of next year.

The face and production drill rigs, loaders and 40-tonne-payload haul trucks will mainly work at a new copper mine under development near the city of Elazig in Turkey.

Epiroc said the drills would be equipped with its Advanced Boom Control solution, ABC Total, enabling the operator to drill a sequence of holes automatically and to control more than one boom simultaneously. All the ordered machines will also have Epiroc’s digital fleet management system.

Eti Bakir is also going to test one of Epiroc’s fully electric Minetruck MT42 SG haulers at its Kastamonu Kure underground copper mine.
