Fathom modelling helps guide Core

Canadian microcap explorer Core Assets Corp will use an improved understanding gained from new 3D magnetic vector inversion modelling of its Sulphide City copper-molybdenum porphyry target in north-west British Columbia to refine its drilling approach.

The company engaged Fathom Geophysics earlier this year to create a 3D magnetic inversion model using versatile time domain electromagnetic, or VTEM, geophysical data collected over the Silver Lime area in 2021.

Management said a 471m-deep 2022 drill-hole on the Sulphide City porphyry encountered “strong porphyry-style alteration, veining and increased molybdenum and copper grades” from about 320m.

“3D radial magnetic models indicate a continuation of the Sulphide City molybdenum-copper porphyry stock to depth where it connects to a larger magnetic body interpreted as the source intrusion,” the company said.

“This source intrusion measures 3.7km wide and appears to be feeding at least three additional interpreted porphyry stocks.

“Interpreted mineralised porphyry stocks along the Pete’s-Sulphide City-Gally Trend are associated with overlapping chargeable and conductive anomalies along their margins that are interpreted as probable zones of high-grade zinc-iron-copper massive sulphide skarn deposits.”

Core Assets is about to start a circa-5000m diamond drilling program.

CEO Nick Rodway said overlaps observed between favourable magnetics, highly chargeable and conductive zones, copper and moly grade down-hole, and the current drilled extent of the Sulphide City moly-copper porphyry “all point towards the continuation of the mineralised Sulphide City porphyry to depths exceeding 1km”.

“These overlapping datasets indicate the presence of a large, long-lived, and multi-stage, mineralised porphyry system feeding the high-grade Silver Lime skarn and CRM targets.

“This interpretation comes with an enhanced understanding of our 3D project geology and structures that acted as fluid pathways for the high-grade massive sulphide and epithermal mineralization observed outboard of the Sulphide City target.”
