Danish manufacturer FLSmidth has announced its second big South American metal plant order this week with a US$46 million rotary kiln and dryer contract for a ferronickel mine in Brazil.
The purchase by Araguaia Niquel Metais Ltda follows Josemaria Resources’ decision to buy FLSmidth SAG and ball mills, and cyclones, for its Josemaria copper-gold project Argentina’s San Juan Province of Argentina. The supplier is booking US$73 million of that $90m order in its March quarter sales.
FLSmidth said as well as the kiln and dryer for Araguaia’s operation in Para, it was supplying pneumatic transport, electrical and laboratory equipment.
Deliveries including three gearless SAG mills and three gearless ball mills to Josemaria will wrap up by late 2023.
