InvestMETS Q&A: ABD Solutions’ Matt Price

‘The market needs flexible autonomy solutions to meet existing and future needs’

UK vehicle autonomy and testing specialist AB Dynamics has landed in Western Australia via subsidiary ABD Solutions’ alliance with local firm, Jevons Robotics. Now it plans to expand its presence and is targeting the region’s growing mining and heavy industry autonomy markets.

InvestMETS.com editor Richard Roberts spoke with ABDS managing director Matthew Price while he was in Perth.

InvestMETS: You’ve just spent a week in Perth. You (ABD Solutions) have a development partner here in Jevons Robotics, but you are also looking to build a direct presence in the WA/Australia mining and other markets. What are the key steps you’re planning on that front in the next 3-6 months?

Matthew Price: We see Australia as a primary area for strategic growth. We’ve had a lot of interest in our solutions throughout Australia and within WA and to capitalise on this, we are in the final stages of establishing a local operation based in WA. Over the next three-to-six months the primary aim is to bring Indigo Drive, our vehicle autonomy technology, to WA and demonstrate its capability and functionally whilst continuing to tailor it for the opportunities that we are already engaged with.
