Australian vehicle maintenance technology company Pitcrew AI has cemented a global partnership with Canada’s Kal Tire in what Pitcrew founder Tim Snell sees as an impactful tie-up.

The four-year-old start-up has grown from its Australian base into the North and South American markets with some collaborative backing from Kal Tire, a large tyre service and supply group with more than 6500 employees and a presence on about 150 mine sites through its mining arm.

That reach extends into Africa and Europe.

Pitcrew AI has enjoyed circa-250% compound annual growth in sales in the past three years.

“Our collaboration has already had a significant impact on mine sites across many countries, particularly in the sustainability space,” Snell said.

“As part of our commitment to customers and mining operation optimisation, we are both committed to delivering strong customer value in a way that promotes sustainability and drives positive change.”

A newly signed memorandum of understanding with Kal Tire designates its mining tyre group as Pitcrew AI’s global partner.

The Canadian company’s mining group senior vice president, Dan Allan, said Pitcrew AI’s autonomous vehicle inspection systems – combining thermal imaging technology and AI-based analytics – brought “critical value” to vehicle fleet planning teams.

“We’re excited about what this milestone will mean for both Kal Tire and Pitcrew AI,” Allan said.
