Metso says about €60 million of orders for equipment used mainly for mineral concentrate and tailings filtration “modernisations” have been received so far in 2025 as customers get on the front foot with efficiency and environmental initiatives.
The Finnish manufacturer this week reported new orders worth c€10 million in the September quarter.
“The majority of the orders are for filter modernisations and upgrades,” it said.
“Full-scope replacement of HRT [high-rate] thickeners … was also booked.”
Metso vice president, beneficiation and dewatering services, Felipe Banados said proactive maintenance was “shaping customer decisions, with reliability fuelling interest in concentrate filtration solutions”.
“In thickeners, growth is fuelled by sustainability and water management initiatives, with older equipment being retrofitted with advanced technology to enhance reliability and to ensure cost-effective, environmentally responsible operations,” he said.
Most of Metso’s 16 different filter types are part of its Metso Plus range designed for greater efficiency in the recovery and reuse of water.
Earlier this year the company opened a Dewatering Development Hub in Irapuato, Mexico, to add to its filtration manufacturing footprint in Finland, India and China.
