Finland’s Metso Outotec has added a €50 million copper solvent extraction and electrowinning plant order to its December-quarter ledger.
The manufacturer said an unnamed North American project would ultimately become an “important reference for Metso Outotec in North America’s growing copper market”.
It previously won a US$23 million order to supply a modular SX-EW plant to Taseko Mines for its $227million Florence copper project in Arizona, USA.
Hudbay Minerals is a finalising a prefeasibility study on its proposed $2.8 billion Copper World Complex project in Arizona, which will have a SX-EW cathode production component.
Metso said its new circa-US$54 million SX-EW order included basic engineering, “a technology package for the VSF solvent extraction and electrowinning plants”, and advisory services for mechanical installation and commissioning, start-up, and spare parts.
