Silicon Valley autonomous vehicle entrepreneur and founder of the Way of the Future church, Anthony Levandowski, has again hinted he’s looking for more of the AI tech spotlight than he might find on autonomy’s offroad track.

The co-founder and CEO of mining and quarrying-focused Pronto, Levandowski remains bullish about the near-term prospects for AI-assisted autonomy in the company’s core markets.

While much of the technology used to advance offroad autonomy has leveraged R&D and investment in on-road driverless systems, progress in the latter area continues to stutter and stall on what Levandowski sees as largely software-related issues.
