Mine sensor market growth will continue to accelerate, says Dylan Webb

Toronto-listed Constellation Software’s latest mining-related tech acquisition, Chile’s Samtech, is “a good fit for us”, according to Datamine CEO Dylan Webb, who sees growth in the market for sensors and connected software in the industry accelerating.

Datamine is part of Constellation’s Vela Industries Group, through which it has acquired privately-owned Samtech.

Webb said one of the fastest growing divisions in Vela was its fleet management business, focused on heavy mining and civil earthmoving equipment.

“Samtech impressed us with their innovative sensor technologies and ability to monitor very large fleets across a range of industries,” Webb said.
