New Measured Group regional manager in Western Australia, Phil Edmiston, is confident of growing the Brisbane-based consulting firm’s presence in the west despite a dearth of available skilled and experienced geoscience and engineering personnel.
Edmiston, who has spent many years in senior leadership positions with a number of mining’s top technology vendors, sees ongoing consolidation in that arena leading to both demand for and freeing of talent – as has happened in the past. He also believes Measured’s modus operandi, which has helped it grow strongly on the east coast in the past decade, can be a factor in its recruitment drive.
