Robert Friedland-headed I-Pulse has moved to bring capacitor production for its pulsed power rock breaking and drilling solutions in-house with its acquisition of US company CSI Technologies.
The strategic purchase of CSI, a California-based manufacturer of high-voltage capacitors for industrial, medical and defence applications, would enhance I-Pulse’s capacitor design and US manufacturing capabilities, the buyer said.
“The acquisition of CSI Technologies enables I-Pulse to accelerate the deployment of disruptive pulsed power solutions across sustainable resource industries,” Friedland, I-Pulse’s cofounder and CEO, said.
“By combining I-Pulse’s world class engineering capabilities with CSI’s deep expertise in high-energy capacitor design and manufacturing we are uniquely positioned to drive game-changing industry transformation.
“We plan to make strategic investments in CSI to further advance high-energy capacitor prototype development and expand production capacity for customers in the US and worldwide.”
Founded in 2007, I-Pulse has offices in New York and London and lab and manufacturing facilities in Albuquerque, New Mexico, Carlsbad, California, Detroit, Michigan and Toulouse, France.
