Australian mining contractor Macmahon Holdings has significantly expanded its scope of work at PT Bumi Resources’ Poboya gold project located in Sulawesi, Indonesia.
A five-year underground contract worth about US$200 million has been added to the circa-$50 million opencut contract Macmahon announced in September last year.
Macmahon said it would start underground development on a cost-plus basis until it finalised an alliance-style, underground mining services contract with PT Bumi subsidiary, PT Citra Palu Minerals (CPM). CPM is supplying major capital equipment and infrastructure for the project under terms of the deal.
