Sweden’s Epiroc has won a US$22 million order for surface mine drills from the operator of the Las Bambas copper mine in Peru, MMG.

MMG owns 62.5% of Las Bambas in joint venture with Guoxin International Investment Co and CITIC Metal Co.

“Epiroc has provided this mine in Peru with advanced drilling equipment for around a decade now and we look forward to continue supporting this major copper producer to optimise its safety, productivity and total cost of ownership,” Epiroc CEO Helena Hedblom said.

The mine bought a fleet of Pit Viper 351 surface blasthole drill rigs and Epiroc will supply drilling tools and spare parts plus on-site technical services.

Equipment deliveries are scheduled to start at the end of this year and continue into the first half of 2027.
