Hypex Bio initiates next phase of growth plan

‘The most important change we are seeing is that hydrogen-peroxide-based explosives are increasingly being discussed as a strategic alternative to the traditional ammonium-nitrate paradigm’

Hypex Bio founder Thomas Gustavsson says the company is looking to remove “remaining barriers to large-scale adoption” of its next-generation mine explosives to position itself for long-term growth as it pursues a significant equity financing.

InvestMETS.com understands the Swedish firm, which has South Africa’s Omnia Holdings as a circa-10% shareholder, is looking to raise up to €30 million to accelerate international commercialisation of its nitrate and ammonia-free explosives.
