The world’s dominant mining equipment manufacturers sold about US$66.5 billion of machines, parts, technology and services last year, similar to the previous 12 months, with 2026 shaping as another flat period for the sector. While most are predicting strong growth over the next five years there are caveats attached to forecasts.
At the halfway point of 2026 reports from publicly-owned heavyweights – 16 of the 20 listed below – indicate capital equipment sales and orders remain stable against a backdrop of elevated commodity prices, strong mining company and contractor balance sheets and plenty of project approvals.
