Nasdaq-listed metal recycler American Battery Technology Company says revenue from its Nevada operation rose 407% year-on-year in FY2026 to US$21.7 million on higher throughput and byproduct output, plus better pricing.
The company, which started commercial production from its McCarran facility in 2023, aims to process more than 20,000 tonnes a year of battery feedstock materials to produce copper, aluminium, steel, lithium intermediate and black mass intermediate material.
“Fiscal 2026 was a defining year for American Battery Technology Company as we delivered the strongest financial results in our company’s history while continuing to expand America’s domestic critical minerals infrastructure,” American Battery Technology Company CEO Ryan Melsert said.
“These achievements demonstrate our continued success in increasing production volumes, improving operating economics and scaling a critical domestic source of battery materials.
“With our growing first recycling facility, development of our second commercial recycling facility, and continued advancement of our Tonopah Flats lithium project, we are executing a uniquely integrated strategy that combines battery recycling, domestic critical mineral resource development, and advanced critical mineral processing technologies.”
ABCT said it was able to book a non-GAAP adjusted gross profit, “with the removal of non-cash expenses”, of $1.7 million despite its cost of goods sold rising by 67% to $24.8 million for FY26. That compared with a loss of $6.2 million last year, “demonstrating substantially improved operating economics as production volumes increased and operational efficiencies were implemented”.
The company said its cash balance increased to $49.5 million as at June 30, 2026, compared with $7.5 million at the same time last year, and it had no outstanding debt.
ABCT is reprocessing lithium-ion batteries from electric vehicles, consumer electronics and grid-scale battery energy storage systems. It is looking for a second site to potentially scale output by 100,000tpa with the backing of a $150 million US Department of Energy grant.
It is also tapping the US DoE for $10 million of public funding to advance “next-generation critical mineral processing technologies” developed in-house for waste reprocessing and primary lithium material processing.
