Ausenco’s Brazil business and local firm GE21 Consultoria Mineral have been chosen by Lavras Gold Corp to lead key work streams in support of its application for a preliminary licence for its Butia-Fazenda do Posto gold project in Rio Grande do Sul.
Toronto-listed junior Lavras says it has done 125,000m of drilling on two dozen targets and defined nearly one million ounces in resources at Butia and Cerrito in the Lavras do Sol (LDS) area in southern Brazil. It describes LDS as beings primarily an “intrusive hosted gold system of possible alkaline affinity”.
“The company has selected Ausenco do Brasil Engenharia to lead the process plant design and infrastructure engineering,” Lavras said.
“Simultaneously, Brazil-based GE21 Consultoria Mineral has been appointed to initiate mine planning and mine closure planning, along with resource model assessments as part of the company’s ongoing studies at its Butia-FdP project.”
Ausenco is an international engineering house. GE21 is described as a specialised geology and mining engineering consulting firm with at least 15 QPs.
