ABB says it has wrapped up its acquisition of Italian transformer manufacturer Specialtrasfo after announcing the deal in May this year.
Increasing global electricity demand was a key driver of transformer demand, ABB said. Specialtrasfo expanded a powertrain portfolio supporting “rapid electrification” of industries such as energy, metals, mining and industrial processing.
The Italian company had three production sites in Italy, more than 130 employees and generated circa-€80 million of sales last year. ABB didn’t disclose the acquisition price.
