Association of Super Funds of Australia CEO Mary Delahunty, the head of Rio Tinto’s Pilbara Mines business, Matthew Holcz, and Bellevue Gold CEO Darren Stralow are among the panellists who will lead AusIMM’s upcoming 2024 online Thought Leadership Series discussions.
AusIMM (Australasian Institute of Mining and Metallurgy) says mining and stakeholder group leaders will address four key topics under this year’s umbrella theme, “Responsible mining in a digital era”.
“Innovating for success in a digital era” will kick things off on June 17, followed a week later by, “Investing in a sustainable future”.
“Achieving a nature positive advantage” will probe the impact of new public regulatory requirements and increased requirements to measure biodiversity and nature-related impacts, examining company disclosure standards and stand-outs. That’s on August 26.
With technology opening up new doors to safety and productivity gains, the October 7 discussion featuring Rio Tinto’s Holcz will be a highlight. It will examine how the industry can, and is, “Striking the balance between safety and productivity”, also taking into account social and environmental trends.
Australasia’s largest mining and metals professional body with more than 15,500 members, AusIMM leads and shapes vital discussions affecting the industry.
