Sweden’s Boliden has ordered more than US$10 million of Epiroc battery-electric drilling and loading, and other underground mining equipment.
Epiroc said the copper and zinc miner would use the equipment at its Ravliden Kristineberg and Renstrom mines in northern Sweden.
Boliden, one of Europe’s largest mining companies, has ordered battery-electric versions of the Boomer face drilling rig, Boltec rock bolting rig, and Epiroc’s largest automated Scooptram loader ST18 with batteries-as-a-service.
