Mining software leader Datamine has made senior management appointments to “play key leadership roles in accelerating Datamine’s growth strategy”.
The Constellation Software business says new chief operating officer Phil Ciezak will lead its global operational strategy while Anthony Cook, who is Datamine’s new chief product officer, will guide its development priorities and global technology portfolio strategy.
“These appointments come as Datamine continues to expand its global footprint, strengthen its integrated technology ecosystem and invest in the future of connected mining workflows, cloud platforms, artificial intelligence and frontier technologies,” the company said.
Ciezak has been around mining software for more than 20 years. He held senior management roles in more than six years at Qmastor, spent more than five years at Aveva and also had stints at Modular Mining Systems and Veracio. He said mining organisations were coming under increasing pressure to improve productivity, reduce risk and maximise value across their operations. Datamine was “uniquely positioned to support customers through its combination of software, technology and specialist industry expertise”.
A geologist who worked at Gold Fields for more than nine years, Cook was also at Snowden Optiro for over five years before it became part of Datamine. He said mining was becoming “increasingly connected and data-driven and customers are looking for technology ecosystems that bring together data, people and workflows to support better decisions”.
Datamine CEO John Bailey described the appointments as “an important milestone in [the company’s] growth and evolution as the global leader in mining technology”.
