EPC Groupe unit EPC Mineex Senegal says a circa-€10 million-a-year explosives and services supply deal at Endeavour Mining’s Sabodala gold mine in Senegal will see it deliver about 45,000 tonnes of explosives over five years.

London and Toronto-listed Endeavour is targeting 2026 gold production of 260,000-to-305,000oz at US$1350-1550/oz all-in sustaining costs at Sabodala-Massawa, Senegal’s largest producing gold operation, after the complex produced 274,000oz at $1250/oz AISC last year.

French-headquartered EPC Groupe will build an emulsion manufacturing plant at the mine, supply two mobile explosives manufacturing units and deploy five Smart Process for Underground Repumping (SPUR) automated underground charging vehicles. EPC Mineex Senegal engineers and technicians will also provide post-blast analysis and optimisation services using in-house developed software.

EPC Mineex Senegal managing director Rokhaya Sall Mbaye said the contract highlighted the “relevance of our integrated model, which combines technical expertise, operational excellence, innovation and close customer relationships”.

“We are particularly proud to support Sabodala gold operations over the long term while contributing to the development of local skills and the creation of sustainable value for surrounding communities,” she said.
