Epiroc buys Aramine parts business

Epiroc is buying Aramine’s €31 million-a-year underground mining machinery parts business for an undisclosed price.

The Swedish underground mining and tunnelling equipment heavyweight says Aramine SAS has customers in more than 70 countries.

The acquisition extended Epiroc’s “reach and … capability to provide mining customers around the world with aftermarket parts and services”, CEO Helena Hedblom said.

Aix-en-Provence-based Aramine last month created a dedicated underground mining equipment arm, ARAMAC, which the French family-owned business is retaining. The 50-plus-year-old parts and machine rebuild business being sold to Epiroc has 65 employees.

Epiroc expects to conclude the acquisition this quarter.
