Sixty-year-old Finnish national, Mats Eriksson is the new president of Sandvik’s US$4.5 billion-a-year mining and rock solutions business and has joined the Swedish company’s executive management group.
Currently president of Sandvik Mining and Rock Solutions’ load and haul division, Eriksson will take up his new role at the start of October.
“Mats Eriksson is an experienced international leader who has successfully delivered strong results and growth for the load and haul division,” Sandvik group president and CEO, Stefan Widing said.
“He has also been instrumental in the development of our world-leading offering of battery-electric vehicles.”
Eriksson joined Sandvik in 2016 to lead the load and haul equipment business.
He was previously CEO of Cencorp Oyj and Salcomp Oyj, two Finnish listed companies, and worked in Singapore, Malaysia, China, India, US, Brazil and South Korea.
