FLSmidth has increased the value of equipment deliveries to an unnamed copper-gold mine in South East Asia to about US$90 million after winning an order for a 5km overland conveyor from the owner. The conveyor is part of the thyssenkrupp Mining product range FLSmidth acquired this year.
The Danish manufacturer said it booked the latest US$44m design and supply contract in its 2022 Q3 order ledger.
It said the pit-to-plant overland conveyor would feature gearless drive technology.
FLSmidth said the mine ordered two gearless SAG mills, two gearless ball mills and six thickeners worth about US$45m in Q1 this year.
“This overland conveyor system order not only continues our robust relationship with this customer, but it also demonstrates the strength of our portfolio following the acquisition of the tk Mining business,” CEO Mikko Keto said.
