FLSmidth has opened a new US$24 million manufacturing facility in Chile.
The Danish company said its Casablanca mill liner plant supported its broader mineral processing comminution mill product and service offering, including a new liner recycling offering launched last week.
The new 11,250-square-metre facility “puts FLS in a leading position over other suppliers in the South American region”, FLSmidth claimed.
“With the capacity to produce up to 6500 tonnes of coatings per year, the LEED-certified centre of excellence integrates engineering, innovation, planning and manufacturing under one roof for increased efficiency in productivity, quality, cost and response time.”
The LEED-certified mill liner manufacturing facility reduced carbon emissions by up to 56% in the manufacturing process and recycled and reused all water, FLSmidth said.
