ABB will supply process and power plant instrumentation to ioneer’s proposed US$785 million Rhyolite Ridge lithium-boron project in Nevada, USA, which is moving towards a final investment decision in 2023.
ASX-listed ioneer’s 2020 definitive feasibility study outlined average annual production of about 20,600 tonnes of lithium carbonate and 174,400t of boric acid over at least 26 years. Gold major Sibanye-Stillwater came in as 50-50 joint venture partner with ioneer under a deal announced last September.
No value was ascribed to the “major” product engineering and equipment supply contract with ABB.
