Finland’s Metso expects to close the acquisition of 23-year-old Western Australian bulk material handling automation and control system specialist, Brouwer Engineering, next month.
Helsinki-listed Metso said the acquisition was “an important step toward [its] ambition to strengthen our automation and control capabilities” but would have no material impact on its financials.
“Combining Metso’s extensive experience in bulk material handling equipment and service offerings with Brouwer Engineering’s electrical and control system capabilities will further strengthen Metso’s position to provide a more comprehensive range of solutions to its customers,” Metso said.
“Additionally, the acquisition strengthens Metso’s bulk material handling services business in Australia, with potential to expand these capabilities globally.”
No acquisition price disclosure was required under Metso’s public reporting rules.
Privately-owned Brouwer has 31 employees and describes itself as a technology company serving the mining and minerals processing market.
