Russian gold major Polyus has placed a US$55 million order for process equipment for its new Blagodatnoye Mill 5 concentrator with FLSmidth.
Danish equipment manufacturer FLSmidth said it would supply a ball mill, flotation technology, thickeners, gravity gold concentrators, a carbon-in-leach circuit, acid wash and detox, screens, pumps and cyclones for the 8 million tonnes per annum plant. A “digital automation package” is also included.
“FLSmidth Moscow will provide site services as part of the agreement,” the company said.
The Copenhagen-listed company left out the destination of the equipment in its public statement, but it was separately reported where Polysus planned to use it.
FLSmidth mining president Mikko Keto said the Polyus order highlighted the company’s “strength in delivering key, state-of-the-art technologies across the gold flowsheet”.
Equipment delivery is expected to be complete in 2023.
Polyus is aiming to lift its total annual gold output from 2.7 million ounces this year to 2.9Moz in 2023. The company has capex guidance of US$1-$1.1 billion for 2021 and c$1.1b a year for the next two years.
