Sandvik says it will start delivering US$24 million worth of surface drill rigs – 34 units – to a US dealer this quarter. It says the order, its largest ever for surface drill rigs, was booked in the final quarter of 2023.
Country Boy Supply, based in Georgia, became a Sandvik dealer in the middle of 2022. It expects to replace its current contractor fleet in Georgia and Tennessee with the new machines.
Sandvik said automation was a key part of the fleet upgrade, with new “intelligent” rigs to be used for production drilling at quarries, mines and construction sites.
