Mineral processing engineer Sedgman has confirmed a C$318 million (US$243m) contract to design and build Artemis Gold’s planned six million tonne per annum carbon in leach gold plant at Blackwater in British Columbia, Canada.

Artemis says it awarded the engineering, procurement and construction (EPC) contract in the June quarter this year.

It is targeting the first half of 2024 for a maiden gold pour from the C$645 million, 320,000-ounces-per-annum mine, with construction due to start by December this year.

Sedgman managing director Grant Fraser said the company, part of ASX-listed CIMIC Group, was expecting to finish its work on the project in the third quarter of 2024.
