Former Barminco boss Peter Stokes is joining London-listed Capital Limited as CEO.
Stokes, who ran the major underground mining contractor for nearly five years before its acquisition by Ausdrill (now Perenti Global), becomes Capital CEO at the start of next month.
He will also join the board of the Africa-focused drilling, mining and analytical services company as an executive director.
Jamie Boyton is to remain executive chairman of Capital.
“Peter Stokes’ appointment as CEO of Capital marks the next phase of the company’s growth strategy,” Boyton said.
“Peter’s experience in running large and complex businesses across many different markets, as well as his considerable experience in the metals and mining industry, makes him ideal to take over the leadership of the business as it continues to grow rapidly across all our key pillars.”
Stokes has been president global logistics at Toll Group for the past 2.5 years.
He was chief operating officer at another large transport and logistics group, Linfox, before joining Barminco and also spent 11 years focused on resources at Accenture.
