Boliden has ordered about US$12 million of Epiroc battery-electric vehicles and automation technology for use at three of its underground mines in Sweden.
The Swedish base and precious metals producer also bought more than US$10 million of Epiroc battery-electric drilling and loading, and other underground mining equipment, last year to deploy at its Ravliden Kristineberg and Renstrom mines in northern Sweden.
Epiroc said the new business would be booked in its 2023 second-quarter orders.
The battery-electric driveline trucks, loaders and drills will got to Ravliden, Renstrom and Kankberg.
Boliden is also adopting Epiroc’s Deep Automation underground production and traffic management system.
