Epiroc says a US$24 million, multi-year order from Chile copper major Codelco is its largest ever digital solutions sale.
The Swedish mining equipment manufacturer, named InvestMETS.com’s inaugural Best Mining Technology Company in our 2023 Global Mining Technology Awards, lodged about $5 million of the order in its December quarter bookings.
It is supplying Codelco with various fleet management, vehicle collision avoidance and mobile asset management technologies, mainly at its El Teniente underground copper mine.
“Digital solutions are increasingly important to ensure mining companies can reach their full potential when it comes to safety and productivity,” Epiroc CEO Helena Hedblom said.
“Codelco has long been on the technological forefront, and we are happy to continue to support them as they further enhance their digitalisation to ensure operator safety and maximum operational efficiency.”
