Mineral processing equipment manufacturer FLSmidth has acquired Canada’s Farnell-Thompson Applied Technologies without disclosing the price.

Copenhagen-listed FLSmidth said most of Farnell-Thompson’s undisclosed revenue and earnings were generated from the supply of mill engineering services and the sale of new mills. The company also provided spare parts and other services to the owners of about 70 mineral grinding mills worldwide.

“Prior to the acquisition Farnell-Thompson has been a consulting partner providing these services to FLSmidth for many years,” FLSmidth said.

“Consequently, a seamless integration of the new business and staff is anticipated.”

FLSmidth’s share price is up about 14.5% in the past month, capitalising the company at DKK18.6 billion, or about US$2.7 billion.
