Hexagon has acquired geospatial software company Voyansi, building on its geosystems division strategy to “accelerate the digitisation of the construction industry”, according to CEO Paolo Guglielmini.

Voyansi was founded in 2009 as AEC Resource (later AEC Lab) and now has more than 300 employees. Founders Daniel Biagi and Diego Cotsifis are currently based in Spain and Argentina, respectively.

The company reportedly generated circa-€14 million of revenues last year, “with a strongly growing recurring revenue base”, according to Hexagon.

“[Voyansi] has operating margins similar to the [Hexagon] Geosystems division,” Hexagon said.

It did not disclose the acquisition price.

“Voyansi’s services are used to digitise all asset types, including data centres, hospitals, industrial facilities and shopping centres, across the design, build and operate phases of their lifecycles,” the Swedish public company said.

“Their solutions complement Hexagon’s leadership in reality capture and AECO [architecture, engineering, construction and operations] solutions, by adding BIM [building information management] support to enable advanced 3D modelling and improve data accuracy.”
