Epiroc has won a circa-US$29 million equipment order from India mining major Hindustan Zinc.

The diesel-powered equipment, including underground trucks and drills, will be delivered in the second half of this year.

Zinc and silver major Hindustan Zinc, part of Vedanta Group, has a current market value of about $21 billion.

Epiroc said the equipment would be delivered to the miner’s Rampura Agucha, Sindesar Khurd, Zawar, Kayad and Rajpura Dariba operations in Rajasthan. It said the order included service and maintenance over six to eight years.

“We are proud to partner with Hindustan Zinc as they have very stringent standards for partners and safety parameters,” Epiroc CEO Helena Hedblom said.

Epiroc India president Arunkumar Govindarajan said half the new machines would be delivered from the company’s Nashik manufacturing plant, supporting the country’s “Make in India” efforts.
