Finland’s Metso has picked up an order for VSF X solvent extraction equipment for an unnamed nickel plant in China.
The manufacturer said the value of “this type of order is usually in the range of €15-20 million”.
Metso said it had already completed a concept study and process test for the proposed Chinese battery-grade nickel sulphate production circuit, basic engineering for which was ongoing.
It was contracted to supply the VSF X plant, polishing filters and an analyser, plus parts and advisory services.
