Metso says it has delivered more than 2400 of its thickeners worldwide

Finland’s Metso Outotec has won an order for 25 thickener units for Chinese Ningbo Lygend Resources Technology’s Obi island high-pressure acid leaching (HPAL) nickel-cobalt operation in Indonesia. The order value, presumably significant, will be included in the manufacturer’s December-quarter intake.

Ningbo Lygend’s US$1.05 billion project, developed with Indonesia’s Harita Group, started production last year, reportedly becoming the first HPAL operation in the country to do so.

Metso Outotec says it has delivered more than 2400 mineral processing plant thickeners worldwide.

“Ningbo Lygend produces high-quality mixed hydroxide precipitation [MHP] raw material for battery production in Indonesia,” the supplier said.

“They chose Metso Outotec thickeners for their project thanks to our sustainable, state-of-the-art technology combined with our good understanding and references of similar process plants.”
