Stracon Group Holding has unexpectedly pulled its proposed Toronto initial public offering only weeks after announcing the IPO, citing “challenging” market conditions.
“While the company has been encouraged by investor interest in the offering the market environment for initial public offerings in Canada continues to be challenging and the company has decided to withdraw the offering at this time,” management said.
“No common shares were sold and no proceeds were received under the offering and the company intends to withdraw the preliminary base PREP prospectus dated August 7, 2026 filed in connection with the offering.
“Stracon’s management team and board believe strongly in the company’s portfolio and strategy and remain committed to further growing the value of the business.”
As reported when the IPO was announced, the Americas-focused mining and engineering group redomiciled from Peru to Canada last year and listed on the Toronto Stock Exchange with a circa-US$400 million market value. London-based fund manager Ashmore Group owns about 85% of Stracon.
The company reported 2026 first-half EBITDA of US$41 million on $375.5 million of revenue.
