Norway sorting machine manufacturer TOMRA Systems has paid about US$10 million for a 14% stake in local digital product serialisation software-as-a-service (SaaS) firm, Kezzler.
“Through this investment, TOMRA will take a position with an important technology that can accelerate the required transition to circularity and resource optimisation,” TOMRA CEO Tove Andersen said.
Founded 20 years ago by its CEO Magnar Loken, Kezzler developed a platform to enable traceability of products through their life cycles that is said to be scalable, flexible, and purpose-built to meet traceability challenges of large, complex organisations across various industries.
TOMRA and Kezzler have already collaborated in several strategic verticals.
“The investment in Kezzler enables TOMRA to explore and further develop opportunities in a strategic digital space,” the former said.
