ASX-listed Lycopodium has won a A$49.4 million engineering, procurement and construction management contract to lead pre-production execution of Greatland Resources’ proposed billion-dollar Havieron copper-gold project in Western Australia.
Lycopodium said its work scope encompassed project management, engineering and procurement services, coordination and management of trade contractors and suppliers, project controls and construction and commissioning management.
Greatland released its Havieron feasibility study last December.
It outlined a 17-year operation producing 3.53 million ounces of gold and 130,000 tonnes of copper over its mine life. The underground mine will provide ore for the Telfer processing hub Greatland acquired from Newmont in 2024.
Lycopodium said Telfer had one of the largest gold processing facilities in Australia, comprising two 10 million tonnes per annum trains.
“Havieron is a world-class, high-grade gold project and we are very pleased to have this opportunity to support Greatland in the development of its Telfer Hub strategy, leveraging the existing processing facilities available at Telfer to mine ore from Havieron,” Lycopodium CEO Peter De Leo said.
