Australian gold miner Ramelius Resources has contracted NRW Holdings engineering business Primero Group to deliver part of its A$223 million Mt Magnet plant expansion in Western Australia.

Ramelius is adding a second comminution circuit, additional leach tanks and associated gold processing infrastructure to boost processing capacity by up to three million tonnes per annum and take overall Mt Magnet capacity to more than 4.3Mtpa, with 1.3Mtpa of that dedicated to handling high-grade ore from Dalgaranga about 75km from the plant.

Ramelius wants to have both circuits operational in the September quarter next year.

Primero said it was building a new crushing circuit and coarse ore stockpile and installing the new grinding circuit and leach tanks.

“The project further demonstrates Primero’s ability to deliver large-scale EPC solutions for leading Australian resource companies and continues to build on our strong track record in the gold sector,” said Primero managing director Michael Gollschewski.
